At Acorn & Oak Weddings, sustainability forms part of our everyday business practice. As an independent wedding planning company, we recognise the environmental impact events can have and aim to support celebrations that are thoughtful, responsible and future-focused.

Our approach prioritises practical, achievable actions that reduce waste, encourage conscious decision-making and contribute positively to environmental restoration.

Environmental Responsibility

Digital-First Operations

Acorn & Oak Weddings operates as a paperless business wherever possible. This includes:

Digital proposals, contracts and invoices
Online planning systems and client portals
Digital wedding-day timelines and supplier schedules
No printed brochures, flyers or business cards
Electronic communication as the default method of operation

This significantly reduces paper consumption and unnecessary printing.

Tree Planting Commitment

For every confirmed wedding booking, Acorn & Oak Weddings funds certified tree planting projects through Ecologi.

Tree contributions are scaled according to the level of service booked:

Coordination bookings: minimum of 1 tree planted
Partial planning bookings: multiple trees planted
Full planning bookings: up to 10 trees planted per wedding

These contributions support global reforestation, carbon reduction and biodiversity restoration initiatives.

Tree planting contributions are made via Ecologi projects, and environmental outcomes are dependent on the delivery of those independent programmes.

Responsible Planning Practices

Throughout the planning process, Acorn & Oak Weddings encourages environmentally conscious choices by:

Recommending local and regional suppliers where possible
Supporting hire, reuse and repurposed décor options
Encouraging seasonal floral selections
Promoting reduced single-use materials
Supporting realistic planning decisions that minimise waste and overproduction

Sustainability recommendations are always offered collaboratively and respectfully, recognising that each couple’s priorities and circumstances are unique.

Home-based business operations reducing commuting impact
Digital project management systems replacing printed planning folders
Minimal single-use materials used during wedding-day coordination
Efficient supplier communication to reduce duplication and resource waste

Industry Responsibility
